Here is Lucie's letter to Lea's friends and fans from April 2005 in English and German.

To all friends and fans of LEA DE MAE

I greet you and thank you that you have gone through the suffering and the terrible fate of my sister with me and my family. These are still hard times for all of us and it isn't easy to cope with that. There's not one single day on which I don't think of her and wait that she comes back home.

Somebody has come with the idea of building a monument for Andrea and I liked this idea. Andrea was beautiful and I would like to immortalize her beauty for ever and to build the most beautiful grave for her where she can rest in peace for ever.

I have met a sculptor whom I know well and I have asked him whether he would take over the task of modeling a statue according to a photo which Andrea has made with Chris. It shall represent not only her beauty but also her modest and loving character.

But even though the sculptor is my friend and makes it for half the price, it is still a very expensive matter. It is probably the last what I can do for her and I try to make this come true, regardless of the costs.

If there is somebody who would like to help, maybe even with only a small amount, I would be very glad and it would help me very much. I don't know exactly how much it will cost because the price permanently changes according to the purchase price of the material, but it should be about 280.000 Kc (8.500 EUR). I already have paid half of it and so I am still missing the amount of 150.000 Kc (4.500 EUR).

The gravestone will be made of white marble and the statue will be made of copper. The statue should be ready at the end of April and the gravestone and the urn should be put in the earth at the beginning of May.

Ich grüsse euch alle und danke euch, dass ihr mit mir und meiner Familie das Leiden und das schreckliche Schicksal meiner Schwester durchlebt habt. Es ist für uns alle immer noch eine schwere Zeit und es ist nicht einfach, damit klarzukommen. Es vergeht nicht ein einziger Tag, an dem ich nicht an sie denke und warte, dass sie zurück nach Hause kommt.

Jemand ist mit der Idee gekommen, ihr ein Denkmal zu bauen, und mir hat diese Idee gefallen. Andrea war wunderschön und ich möchte ihre Schönheit für immer verewigen und ihr das schönste Grab machen lassen, wo sie für immer in Frieden ruhen kann.

Ich habe mich mit einem Bildhauer getroffen, den ich gut kenne, und ich habe ihn gefragt, ob er die Aufgabe übernehmen würde, eine Statue nach einem Foto zu modellieren, das sie mit Chris gemacht hat. Sie soll nicht nur ihre Schönheit, sondern auch ihren bescheidenen und liebevollen Charakter darstellen.

Doch obwohl der Bildhauer mein Freund ist, und er es für den halben Preis macht, ist es immer noch eine sehr teure Angelegenheit. Es ist wahrscheinlich das letzte, was ich für sie noch machen kann, und ich versuche das zu verwirklichen, koste es was es wolle.

Wenn es jemanden gibt, der gerne helfen würde, sei es nur mit einem kleinen Betrag, wäre ich sehr froh, und es würde mir sehr helfen. Ich weiss nicht genau, wieviel das alles kosten wird, weil sich der Preis ständig nach dem Einkaufspreis des Materials ändert, aber es sollten so um die 280.000 Kc (8.500 Euro) sein. Die Hälfte habe ich schon bezahlt, und so fehlt mir noch der Betrag von 150.000 Kc (4.500 Euro).

Der Grabstein wird aus weissem Marmor sein und die Statue aus Kupfer. Die Statue sollte Ende April fertig sein, und Anfang Mai sollte der Grabstein und die Urne in die Erde gelegt werden.
